Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) reacted similarly to his brother when Chelsea told him Johnny Abbott (Paxton Mishkind) was her other son.
Hardcore fans know that Chelsea has three sons. Johnny was her first, with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) being his father. Riley Newman (Malachi Barton), who was miscarried, is her second son, and Adam is his father. Connor is her last-born.
Chelsea’s spin out of control is provable through her pattern of decisions that involve high-leverage emotional situations that involve multiple people. She seems incapable of recognizing the impact of recent decisions. Her two surviving son’s lives are significantly disrupted.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – How Did Chelsea Lawson Get Here?
Chelsea believes she fully recovered during the period in Minnesota. As viewers recall, that was when Egan’s character was allowed to travel out of state and help her mother, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach), who had multiple physical issues.
Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was assigned to accompany Chelsea and Connor out of state. That experience allowed Chelsea’s poisoning target to bond with her and develop a connection with Connor.
Chelsea developed feelings for Rey during that point in the plot, which helps to explain why she was so devastated by his tragic passing earlier this year. Since then, she made an unsolicited play for Billy, which tipped him off to her fragile mental state.
Y&R Spoilers – Son’s Long-Term Negative Implications
Johnny is very disturbed by what his adoptive mother, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and father told him. While they attempted to be as gentle as possible, he was shocked by the news that Chelsea is his birth mother and Connor is his sibling.
Johnny’s choice to hide out in his bedroom paralleled Connor storming out of Chancellor Park and demanding that his mom take him back to the Newman Ranch, where he is living. While they are no longer little boys, Johnny and Connor remain in an age-range where a complex matter like this is not easily digestible.
Victoria and Billy opposed Chelsea’s plan to tell Johnny the truth. Their instincts were vindicated.

Adam noticed that Chelsea has been on edge. However, his response to learning that Connor learned this news without his presence leads to a harsh conversation that likely pushes Chelsea further over the edge.

There seems to be no clear out for Chelsea, who clearly needs professional mental health treatment, with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) targeted to assist once more. Egan’s character also deserves compassion and hopefully receives that from those who care about her.
Chelsea’s sons also need to be made to understand that their mother deserves respect. Their feelings are not the only issues in play on Y&R.
